Trading shiny and Legendary Pokémon
Shiny and Legendary Pokémon are the trades trainers care most about, and the ones worth checking most carefully. Here's what to look at before you accept.
Find them
Browse rare Pokémon trades, or filter DexTrade to shiny or Legendary listings. Every Pokémon page shows the games it can be traded in and its live listings.
Before you accept
- Ask for the summary screen: Poké Ball, level, met location and Original Trainer.
- Many Legendary Pokémon can't be shiny in some games, and event Pokémon came from specific distributions. If a listing looks impossible, ask how it was obtained.
- Check the shiny sparkle when the Pokémon arrives in the trade screen, before you confirm.
- If something doesn't add up, it's fine to say no.
In Pokémon GO
Shiny and Legendary trades are Special Trades: one per day, and expensive in Stardust unless you're Ultra or Best Friends. Mythical Pokémon can't be traded in GO. Details are in the Pokémon GO trading guide.
Fair offers
There are no prices on ApexDex: value is whatever both trainers agree. Look at what the trainer lists as wanted, and offer something comparable. Mystery Trade matches trainers by the value of what each puts in.
